2019 Transpower Women Scholarship in Engineering at University of Canterbury New Zealand

The University of Canterbury (UoC) is requesting for women who are studying undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree) Power Engineering in the School of Engineering at the University.

The Applicant should have command in English Language sot that can continue further study.

  • The Application should be submitted before due date which is March 31, 2019. 
  • The Course Level of the Scholarship is obtainable to pursue an undergraduate (Bachelor’s) degree program. 
  • The Study Subject of the Scholarship are awarded to study in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. 
  • The Benefits of the Scholarships is Up to $5,000 in scholarships may be awarded each year, providing applicants of sufficient merit are obtainable. 
  • The Number of Scholarships is only One. 
  • The Scholarship is allowed to New Zealand citizens.
  • The host Institute of the Scholarship is University of Canterbury. 
  • The Course of the Scholarship is Commence in 2019. 

Eligibility Criteria:


Applicants must meet the following criteria Points:
  • The Applicants must be female and citizens of New Zealand or holders of New Zealand residence class visas. 
  • The Applicants must be enrolled, full-time or part-time, in: 
  • The Professional Year of a program for a Undergraduate of Engineering with Honors degree 
  • At least 1 of the courses specifically needed for a minor in Power Engineering for the Electrical & Electronic Engineering specialization. 
  • The Applicants who are not enrolled in the 1st Professional Year by Direct Entry must have obtained an average GPA of at least 6.0 (B+ grade) in their most recent year of university study.
