The University of Balochistan (UoB) also known as Balochistan University which is a public university situated in the downtown area of Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. The UoB was founded in 1970. In Month of June 1996, the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan has passed the University of Balochistan (UoB) Act 1996. The Chancellor of UoB is Governor of Balochistan and Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Javeid Iqbal. The Registrar of the university is Tariq Jogezai and the area of the University is 200 acres (0.81 km 2). The Strength of the UoB is up to 11000 and University of Balochistan is affiliated by HEC (Higher Education Commission of Pakistan) and his official website is www.uob.edu.pk.

Since the civilization of Mehrgarh (9000 BCE) is a great source of inspiration for researchers and provide linkage with the other world of art and craft. The Department of Fine Arts also provides a facility to study in depth the cultural heritage of Balochistan.
