CRS4 PhD Scholarships for International Students at University of Cagliari in Italy, 2018-19

The CRS4 has announced the Scholarship for International Students For the academic year 2018/2019 at University of Cagliari (UniCa) in Italy. These scholarships are obtainable to Italian and International citizens.

CRS4 is an interdisciplinary research Centre, which was founded by the Sardinia Autonomous Region on 1990, whose sole shareholder is the regional agency Sardegna Recherché. Since 2003, the center is situated within Science & Technology Park (Polaris), a point of attraction for high tech research in the Commune of Pula, about 40 km from Cagliari.

2. System theory and IoT paradigms for cyber security of industrial control systems and critical infrastructures (Electronic & Computer Engineering) 
3. Data-intensive methods and techniques for scientific and industrial problems (Mathematics & Computer Science). 
4. Comprehending cancer evolution by Next Generation Sequencing (Molecular & Translational Medicine) 
5. Salable Technologies for Visual and Geometric Computing (Mathematics & Computer Science) 

• The Benefits of the Scholarship is € 15,343.28 gross of tax deduction (INPS “Gemstone Separate” to the beneficiary: 1/3) and net of the University deduction (2/3). 
• The amount of the scholarship is increased up to 50%, for a maximum period of 18 months, if the Academic Board authorizes/Relevant a PhD student to carry out study and research activities abroad, in other universities or research Institutions. 
• This Scholarship is allowed to All Nationality, Foreign citizens or International Students.

Eligibility Criteria:

The Applicants must meet the following criteria Points:

Admission to PhD programmes is open to graduates (Master Degree), regardless of nationality, holding (ref. to the Italian university system):

• A degree rewarded according to the Italian Ministerial Decree no. 270/2004
• A degree rewarded according to the Italian Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999;
• A degree rewarded according to the regulations created before the Italian Ministerial Decree no. 509/1999.
• Academic qualification (2nd cycle university degree: Master-level) issued by a foreign university specified as equivalent or equal to. 
• The foreign university degree should be evaluated suitable & equivalent, in terms of duration, level of degree & fields of study to the degree listed above and providing access to PhD programmes. 
• The Examination Board will intentional on equivalence, in compliance with the present regulations in Italy and in the Country where it was issued, and with international agreement or agreements regarding the recognition of qualifications for further studies for the sole ambition of admission to the PhD programme. 
• The Admission is also start to students who are going to graduate (Master) not later than 31st October 2018. These Applicants will be admitted with reservation & will submit a certificate (only for degrees achieved abroad) or a self-declaration of their graduation together with a copy of a valid ID. 
• The Applicants should have a command in English Language so that can write application in English.

Foreign applicants holding a university degree issued abroad should fill in the online application & upload the following documents in PDF format (each file not exceeding 1 MB):

1. Certificate attesting the reward of a 2nd level foreign degree needed to access a PhD programme, 
2. Form requesting the interview by teleconference (if needed); 
3. Two-sided coloured copy of a valid ID, with a clear photo. 
4. 1 or more reference letter(s), in English or Italian, on institution letterhead paper, written & signed by a university professor or expert in the PhD scientific area(s) (up to 3 letters admitted); 
5. excluding exams and marks, with a translation in Italian or English; 
6. Certificate attesting the reward of a 1st level foreign degree, excluding exams and marks, with a translation in Italian or English; signed Curriculum Vitae preferably in EU format, in English or Italian;
7.  Additional qualifications, certifications, publications (up to 5) and work experiences, detailed in- English or in Italian;
